I can not burn discs.

1. Did you install the software that came with your ReWriter?
To burn discs easily, you need to install the software (Nero) that came with your ReWriter (if delivered). A burning application that came with another brand will typically NOT work with your Philips device.

2. My Nero software does display the Philips device, but I can not choose to use it?
You probably have a Nero version that came with a non-Philips ReWriter. Install the Nero software that came with your Philips ReWriter.

3. Is there other burning software installed?
In some cases, the combination of several burning applications on 1 computer might cause them to conflict. Try deinstalling the other burning software and only keep the Nero software.

4. Did you use a supported disc?
Not all ReWriters can write on all available disc types. Use Nero Infotool to see which discs can be written.
We advise to use the Philips Intelligent Agent to keep your Philips ReWriter up to date. Updating your ReWriter may solve some problems.

5. I get an error message while burning
There are many reasons why burning a disc may fail. Try following solutions:
  • Choose a slower writing speed (example 16x -> 8x).
  • Use another disc (another brand or another advertised write speed).
  • Use another disc type (switch from DVD-R to DVD+R or similar).
